Since its beginnings in the mid-1800's, the Island House has remained a comfortable and pleasant
retreat. This continues to be true of our newly-built Island House B and B, located in a quiet setting
nearby. Nestled on a hill above the village, with the sound of the wind in the surrounding spruce
and pines, it provides a place of serenity for those who visit.
Even though the location has changed, the old-fashioned hospitality and hosts remain the same!
We are conveniently located in a small fishing and boat building village on the "quiet side" of the
island, an easy 15 mile drive to Bar Harbor. The harbor, restaurants and shops are all within
pleasant walking distance.
